Meet Danielle
Danielle was elected to the APS Board of Education in 2021 and is running for reelection in 2025! Born in Farmington, NM, Danielle moved to Albuquerque at the age of 5. She is a proud product of APS (Cochiti and Chaparral Elementary, John Adams Middle, and Valley High). She has dedicated her career to improving education in the U.S with a focus on students of color.
"I was lucky to receive an amazing education but I also witnessed peers and family struggle. Success in school and in life shouldn't be left to chance. We need to build an education system that enables everyone to thrive."
Danielle worked her way through college and earned her Bachelors in Political Science and Spanish Language and Literature at The George Washington University in DC. After school she earned her Masters in Education from the University of Notre Dame and began her career as a fourth grade teacher in Brownsville TX. She then turned her focus to improving education on a larger scale, as an advocate, policy expert, in education philanthropy, and as a nonprofit leader. Danielle serves on several nonprofit boards and lives in the North Valley with her husband Tim, her three children and her niece.
